FLOWBIO SENSOR
The FLOWBIO Sensor measures your real-time fluid and sodium loses during exercise. Combined with the FLOWBIO app, AHi (Advanced Hydration Intelligence) delivers an end-to-end hydration system so you can perform at your best - knowing what to drink, when, and why.
Please note that prices shown for customers from outside the UK exclude VAT or relevant import duties.
What the Sensor Measures?
The FLOWBIO Sensor measures fluid and sodium loses continuously throughout exercise. Combined, these give a real-time picture of loses, the data point that varies most between athletes and between sessions.
Sweat rate and sodium concentration are influenced by environmental temperature, exercise intensity, heat acclimation status, and individual physiology. A single session produces a unique loss profile. The sensor captures that profile as it unfolds rather than estimating it from population averages.
How Accurate is the Sensor?
The FLOWBIO Sensor's accuracy has been established in an independent, peer-reviewed validation study led by CEPS Montpellier. Sensor measurements were compared directly against laboratory gold standard reference methods the same standards used in sports science research settings.
The full methodology and dataset are published and publicly available. View the study here.
Who is it for?
Athletes who already train with structured data: cyclists, triathletes, and runners who work from power, pace, and heart rate and understand that marginal gains in hydration can affect output, recovery, and consistency.
Also sports scientists, coaches, performance directors, and nutritionists who use FLOWBIO in applied programmes, including teams competing at World Tour, T100, and professional triathlon level.
VAT and Import Duties

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.
CAN I SEE MY SWEAT DATA IN REAL-TIME ON MY WATCH OR BIKE COMPUTER?
The real-time stream of data to Wahoo bike computer will launch in late June 2026. The real-time stream of sweat data to Garmin watches and bike computers is currently undergoing internal testing and will be released to beta later this summer.
HOW DOES THE SENSOR WORK?
The Sensor captures your sweat and analysis its contents. Proprietary algorithms use the sensor data to estimate your sweat rate and sodium loss. The data is shown on the FLOWBIO App, offering recovery and preparation suggestions and tips to optimise your performance.
HOW ACCURATE IS THE SENSOR?
Our latest data has indicated that we are 90% accurate in lab based conditions. In the field we achieve accuracies up to 83% for our sodium with as little as 180mg difference (that is 6x less than a pinch of salt). Our fluid loss is 73% accurate with as little as 250mL difference to in-field gold standards. If you are interested in learning more about the accuracy of the system behind the Sensor, you can view the validation study here.
This work comes from a globally respected group in exercise hydration and thermophysiology, including Yannis Pitsiladis and Sébastien Racinais, who have shaped international guidelines on heat stress and athlete safety. The research was conducted across elite applied physiology centres such as CREPS Montpellier and Université de Montpellier, both known for rigorous heat and sweat research with real athletes. These groups are trusted for gold-standard methodology and for translating lab science into practical performance guidance.
VAT & IMPORT DUTIES.
Please note that prices shown for customers from outside the United Kingdom exclude VAT or relevant import duties. For customers in the UK, VAT is added at checkout.
WHAT KIND OF ACTIVITY CAN I USE THE FLOWBIO SYSTEM FOR?
Currently, data from the Sensor is accessible only during cycling, running or walking activities. We plan to expand and include other sports as we grow. If you are interested in using our Sensor for a different modality please get in touch here.
WHERE CAN I WEAR THE SENSOR?
The Sensor is designed to be worn on an existing heart rate monitor. We support both optical arm-based monitors and chest straps, offering flexibility in wearing the Sensor either on the upper arm or on your back.
WHAT DOES THE SENSOR MEASURE?
The Sensor measures your sweat rate and sodium loss, helping you optimise your recovery and prepare for training and events by ensuring you replace and bring the necessary fluid and electrolytes.
CAN THE SENSOR WORK ON ITS OWN, OR DO I NEED TO TAKE MY PHONE WITH ME?
You can exercise without your phone nearby, but for syncing the Sensor and viewing your data, having your mobile device is essential.
At present, using the FLOWBIO System requires a fitness tracker integrated with the Companion App. We currently support the following integrations:
- Garmin
- Wahoo
- Zwift
- Coros
